Bittersweet is the theme in our house this month, too! Our youngest graduates from university. I've had to reinvent myself as a "guidance" counselor to help both our boys navigate launching into tech careers which is so much more complicated than "back in the day!" I keep creating, writing & reading in pockets of time to keep my cup full, but writing in my morning pages journal continues to help me download, sort & solve!
Oh, wow, this spoke to me about the passage of time! I am already dreading the empty nest, and I have three more years to go before my son heads off to college! I'm just so worried, though, because despite having a career, so much of myself has been tied to being a mother that I am almost unsure of where/who I'll be without him here with me. And I KNOW these next three years are going to speed by in a blink of an eye!
I am so interested in the class you're going to be teaching this summer. I have chronic lower back pain, but I am thinking about it in terms of dealing with another chronic health condition -- chronic fatigue syndrome, which doesn't necessarily cause pain, but is very hard to accept and deal with, and might benefit from exploring through journaling and yoga. What do you think? 10AM EST is 7AM Arizona time, which may or may not be feasible for me, but with recordings... :) The whole thing sounds wonderful!
Oh, you need to come and this shows that we have even more in common. I was diagnosed with CFS and Fibromyalgia at 14 (long before it was well-known) and that is part of my chronic pain today. But in the writing circle, I define 'pain' loosely as an chronic condition that causes physical or mental pain, including the kind of crushing fatigue you're talking about. I think this would be perfect for you. The sessions will be recorded and shared immediately in email and I'll have a private Voxer group, too. Let me know if I can answer any questions!
Stephanie, I didn't know...we do have a lot in common! I wish we didn't have this in common. I was diagnosed as an adult with CFS when the doctors ruled out everything else, but the fact that I had had the Epstein Barr virus some time in the past, and it has been really something I've struggled with -- both the acceptance of, the managing of, and the living with. I signed up for the writing circle. I might be more apt to listen to the recordings because of my work schedule, but I will try to do my best to show up early...Thank you!!!
Mine originated from Epstein Barr too and brought havoc on me again as I entered my forties. This journaling has been a game changer along with other natural therapies. We need to chat! So glad you joined the writing circle!

Thank goodness for morning pages, write! Everything really does seem much harder...and expensive. I've been LOVING your nature pages on Instagram!
Thank you, Stephanie! International Nature Journaling Week has been such a wonderful journey of unexpected discoveries!
